Aging is a natural process for men and women, but hormonal changes we experience can lead to unpleasant symptoms—hair loss, depression & unwanted weight gain. Through integrative medicine, we balance hormones, and delay or eliminate affects of aging. We focus on identifying and addressing the root cause of the problem by incorporating nutrition, supplementation, fitness, and lifestyle solutions, rather than relying exclusively on pharmaceutical and invasive surgical interventions.

What is Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy & Why Is It Important?
The term “Bio-identical” is often misinterpreted and there is confusing literature surrounding the differences between “Bio-identical” versus “synthetic” hormone replacement. A “Bio-identical” hormone is specifically referencing the chemical structure of a particular hormone. Which are most similar to the hormones naturally produced by our bodies. This is not to say all “synthetic” hormones are bad.
For example, most oral contraceptive pills are “synthetic hormones” and play an important role for women wanting to prevent unplanned pregnancy. In this regard these products serve their purpose well. However, when prescribed to address symptoms associated with menstrual irregularities (i.e. painful menses, heavy flow, severe cramping, etc.) they often come with undesirable side effects. In many cases bio-identical progesterone can be utilized to address the underlying hormone imbalance causing these symptoms.
Optimizing hormone levels has shown to play a significant role for improving overall health. From reducing one’s risk of cardiovascular disease to improving brain health, helping stabilize moodiness and enhanced concentration. As well as improving sexual wellness for both men and women.
As unique and special individuals our tolerance and thresholds for each hormone varies from person to person. Placing emphasis on the importance of obtaining a baseline hormone panel combined with a thorough review of your symptoms and past medical history. With continued monitoring of follow up labs at recommended intervals based on your results and customized treatment regimen.
